Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has suggested that his Gunner’s are full confidence ahead of their clash with Manchester City at Eastlands. The last two games have now been won by the Emirates outfit and although Wenger knows the game will be completely different to that of Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday night, he believes his players are in the right frame of mind.
“Manchester City is a different type of game and what was important for us tonight was to win and then prepare,” said Wenger after defeating Shakhtar.
The Arsenal boss continued.
“We have won our last two games now and that is important because we go into the Manchester City game with a good level of confidence and with some certainties in the way we want to behave.”
Despite demolishing the Ukrainian side last night, the Arsenal manager feels that results are more important than how many goals are scored, adding.
“When you win 1-0 people think it’s too difficult, when you win 5-1 people think it’s too easy. We had a good team attitude and we had a very good technical level. The result is important, the number of goals for me is not important.”
A win for Arsenal against Manchester City on Sunday could put them equal second on points with only goal difference being a factor.
