Reports in Germany are starting to surface that Arsenal have not only joined the long list of admirers of Werder Bremen play maker Marko Marin but that The Gunners have in fact moved in to pole position.
Marin has been the subject of intense speculation over the last few months with the likes of Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Man Utd and Tottenham all linked with the player termed the German Messi and now the rumours doing the rounds in Germany are that Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal are now considered favourites for the 21 year old.
Marin’s valuation has skyrocketed from the €8.5 Million that Werder Bremen paid for him and it is now suggested that nothing short of €20 Million will be enough to get his club to open up talks, if that is the case then that may prove to be the biggest stumbling block for Arsenal.
Wenger does not like to spend big and €20 Million would represent a massive investment by The Gunners but that does not mean that Wenger would not go that high, but anything higher and then it may well be that the player then becomes to expensive.
What is for certain is that at some point over the next few months the Marin saga will reach its end game.
