Arsenal are prepared to spend heavily in the summer as they look to regain their place amongst England’s elite next season in what could well turn out to be Arsene Wenger’s final season at the club.
The club are prepared to raid Germany again this summer and are reportedly set to splash the cash to bring some superstars to North London with Robert Lewandowski, Mario Gotze and Lars Bender all on the Gunners’ shopping list according to reports in the Sunday Mirror. The report goes on to add that Arsene Wenger is prepared to spend his entire 70 million pound transfer warchest on the trio if required, but is also keen to sneak in a bid for Lyon midfielder Maxime Gonalans if his budget permits.
All four of the aforementioned targets are under 25, making them excellent long term prospects for Arsenal. However, it wouldn’t be easy landing any of the Germany based players with Dortmund unlikely to entertain offers for Gotze in particular, and the 20-year old midfielder having declared recently that he would only leave the club should an offer arrive from Barcelona, Real Madrid or Manchester United.
