Arsenal outcast could be on his way across London in January
According to reports circulating online, Arsenal outcast Andrey Arshavin is on his way to Fulham on a free transfer.
Fulham manager Martin Jol is a big admirer of the Russian and could make a move in the coming January transfer window after the player has fallen well down the pecking order at the emirates.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger does not need a player who has been out of form for some time now and with Alex oxlade-chamberlain, Gervinho and Theo Walcott all part of his plans, unfortunately the Russian is not.
So a move across town could just be what the Russian need’s to kick start his career again having fallen from grace so heavily.
The fact that he could achieve this on a free transfer would be a real coup for the Fulham boss since the former Zenit st.Petersberg star has played at the very top level of European football and his experience would be invaluable.
The only stumbling block for Jol might be the player’s wages. Fulham do not have the spending power or the wage structure to employ the forward so it may be that the Russian has to take a pay cut for a chance to stay in the Premier League.
The 31- year old is now coming to the twilight of his career and would welcome as much playing time as he could get.
