Arsenal up against Bayern Munich in battle for impressive Spanish hit man

Despite dipping into the transfer market twice already this summer to boost their striking options, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger could be in for another young forward as he looks to revamp his squad, with Atletico Madrid man Adrian reported to be in their sights.

Adrian, who moved to Atletico only last season from fellow La Liga outfit Deportivo La Coruna, enjoyed a successful debut term with the Rojiblancos in which he scored 19 times, including 11 in the Europa League to help Diego Simeone’s side win the competition.

Clearly happy with how fast the striker has settled at the Estadio Vicente Calderón, Atletico are trying to get Adrian to put pen to paper on improved terms, but haven’t got a positive response from the striker, leading them to fear that an impending move could be on the cards.

The player however has shunned away such talks, suggesting that he is more than happy to continue his stint in Spain.

“I am very happy,” Adrian said. “In my first year we have a title, something that you would expect, and I felt very comfortable with the people in the club. The support of the fans is amazing. I have three years and my idea is to follow.”

Bayern Munich are also said to be in the hunt for the £14.5 million-rated striker, but Arsenal could be ready to swoop in ahead of them in order to acquire the services of the 24-year old Spaniard.

Why r we only concentrating on strikers. Dont we think that Song needs cover in his role. The same 4 Sagna and Santos.

i think as long under performers like Chamak, villa and bentdner are leaving it very important we participate in the market to replace them and ialso think wenegr will do some thing about holding midfielder and goal keeper.
