Arsenal’s chances of holding on to their talismanic captain and lead striker, Robin van Persie, appear to be getting bleaker by the day according to reports that claim that the Dutchman has made up his mind to leave the Gunners this summer. Van Persie has been a constant source of tabloid fodder over the last few months due to his contract situation and there are suggestions that the player might not sign an extension with the Gunners. Manchester City and Juventus have been monitoring the situation closely, with both clubs prepared to make a multi-million bid for the 28 year old.
Arsene Wenger has stood firm during the contract battle, even appearing confident about the striker staying at the Emirates beyond the summer. But with pre-season set to begin next week, Van Persie’s contract stand-off is nowhere near a resolution. Arsenal will not buckle under pressure and hand Van Persie an astronomical wage package, something City are more than willing to do.
The report also suggests that the striker had in fact made his decision as early as March about leaving the North-London outfit for the vast riches in the Eastlands. Wenger has appeased most fans by adding quality players in the transfer market but that would be negated if the club lose their best player to the defending champions.

I just cannot see hpw things have changed. rvp is on holiday in the caribean so unless he is talking to people on holiday what is different to before he went. as far as i am concerned he still has 12 months on his contract.
Poor reporting to quote a report this is the lazy journalism.
RVp is on holiday so there will be no movement as you say day by day till he gets back.
Your bias is obvious when you mock wengers ability to hold his striker.
Juve arent interested.
His family say he wont stay in England so that rules city out.
Either he signs or sell him!
Van Persie as Captain is showing poor leadership to allow this crap to occur again after what happened last year.
VP go to Man City and lets see whether the entire Man City funnels you the ball as what you enjoyed last season.
Man City and Chelsea will destroy the Premier League with their over the top payments.
Instead buying a team each year, how about building one.
AAHHHH SHUT UP YOU WIND-UP
Well well, guys tend to forget that RVP has a full one year to go on his contract, its not his decision alone to make, the club may well decide not to sell him. Have Arsenal agreed to sell?
As good as he is, he should not be allowed to dictate how Arsenal works!
AFC should make him stay for the last year of his contract and leave for nothing next season!
sell them all. list of players to sell ae;
Diaby,Djourou,Chamak, benthner, alminium, Ramsey, Denilson, Jerkinson,Gervinho, Squilacy, . then bring home Villa and keep RVP. Buy M’villa and more.
Our problem is not RVP leaving.
The problem is noth willing to buy big player.
Players like; Tevez, modrich, Bale, Drogba and many more are in the market. RVP are not better than tevez. We can equally go for those big players and allow him to go since his mind is not there anylonger. Even if we keep him , he will not perform like b4.
Buy big players simple.
