Arsene Wenger expresses his admiration for AC Milan wonder kid
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has expressed his admiration for 20-year old Italian striker Stephan El Shaarawy, currently on the books of giants AC Milan.
Wenger, who is believed to be looking for reinforcements in the striking department when the January transfer window opens, was questioned recently whether he would be looking to sign the young Italian. The French tactician delicately replied, ‘You never know. I just say I love the way he plays.’
Wenger’s remarks are certain to send the rumour mill buzzing in both England and Italy, with the Metro reporting that Arsenal will need to spend 20 million pounds to prise away the striker from AC Milan’s clutches.
Wenger has been given money to spend this season, but it will be interesting to see whether he is willing to belt out such a huge sum on just one player.
El Shaarawy has started the season in exceptional form, scoring 13 goals in 16 matches. It will be interesting to see though whether the young man of Egyptian descent is considered tough enough by Wenger to excel in the physically more demanding English league.
