Bosnian international keeper Asmir Begovic has rubbished rumours that he will be leaving Stoke City this summer to join Liverpool. The 25 year old keeper who enjoyed a breakthrough season under Tony Pulis believes that the change in management doesn’t affect his position at the club, and he is in no hurry to force a move away from the Britannia at this point in time.

The outspoken keeper who appears to enjoy the media attention involved with being a favourite of the gossip mongers said, “I haven’t actually spoken with the new manager myself, but there will be a time when we can look at my situation. But as far as I am concerned, nothing has changed with the change of manager.

The youngster did leave the door slightly ajar though for possible suitors by sharing, “I am committed to the club until someone tells me otherwise. And I am sure that whatever happens, the club will do what is best.

The Stoke City Chairman Peter Coates had also shared previously that they wish to hang on to their star keeper, but will be prepared to let Begovic leave should they receive a blockbuster off for him.

With Liverpool keeper Pepe Reina constantly linked with a return to Barcelona, one wonders if it is just a matter of time before the Reds come calling at the Britannia.
