Chelsea and Arsenal among the clubs set to miss out on South American forward
Alexis Sanchez has been on the shortlist of every top English club this summer, including Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United, Man City and Arsenal. The 24 year old Chilean forward has failed to impress in his two seasons at Barcelona since making a big money more from Udinese, and it was widely speculated that the Catalan giants could offload the youngster in the upcoming transfer window to make funds available to acquire new talent.
However, the five aforementioned English clubs look set to lose out on the young winger as newly promoted French side AS Monaco are set to splash the cash on the youngster to bring him over to the Ligue 1 according to reports on Italian transfer website TuttoMercato.
Monaco are funded by the billions of Russian businessman Dmitry Rybolovlev, and the 46 year old Monaco owner is ready to spend however much is necessary to make the club the best in the land. That includes bringing in the best players from around the world. Monaco have already been linked to players like Radamel Falcao, Patrice Evra, Carlos Tevez, and should Sanchez join that all star cast, the club is likely to be highly competitive in Ligue 1 next season.
