Fiorentina have attached a hefty £20 million price tag on their star striker Stevan Jovetic in a bid to ward off interest from Juventus, Chelsea and Arsenal, reported the Metro. The club had earlier refused the possibility of a sale this summer, but now they have admitted that the player could be allowed to leave if a massive bid comes along. Jovetic signed a contract just last year that will keep him in Florence till 2016.
However, seeing the heavy interest in the player, Viola director Daniele Prade said, “Since the start of the season we have said that we are not selling Jovetic. There is, however, an agreement with the player that [should we get an offer] above a certain figure, we will sit down and evaluate the offer. So far we have not received an offer for the player. He is a top player and we will only consider offers above £20 Million.”
Fiorentina will be keen on retaining their star for atleast another season, but have kept the option of a profitable transfer open. However, with such an exorbitant price tag, it is likely that only Chelsea amongst the aforementioned clubs have the financial muscle to genuinely challenge for his signature.
