Chelsea winger Eden Hazard has been declared fit to start against Everton at Goodison Park this weekend, according to reports in The Daily Mail.
The 22 year old had been pulled out of training ahead of Belgium’s World Cup qualifier against Scotland, following complaints of an Achilles problems. Reports suggested that Hazard had been struggling to cope with the pain for quite some time before things got out of hand during a training session, and he was told to take a break by the medical staff.
However, a senior member of the staff confirmed the news of the player’s recovery, following Belgium’s 2-0 victory over Scotland, a game in which Hazard was left out of the squad altogether.
The news of the Belgian’s availability for selection would be a major boost for Chelsea, who have an important away match against the Toffees this Saturday. Roberto Martinez’s men would be desperate for a win against the Blues, after drawing each of their opening three games in the Premier League this season. Chelsea, on the other hand, would be keen on a repeat of last year’s performance which saw them sailing to a 2-1 win at the fortress that is Goodison Park.
