Wilfred Bony is a young man in demand and has caught the attention of clubs all around Europe. One of those clubs rumoured to be after his signature is Premier League outfit Chelsea, who have watched him on a number of occasions and are planning a bid this January.
They have been impressed about what the scouts have reported back about the Vitesse Arnhem striker and could delve into their pockets to add him to their squad.
Big, strong, powerful and pacey, he is enjoying all the hype surrounding him and even though he isn’t the big name Chelsea fans are after, he would enjoy the challenge of the Premier League.
So he spoke to Sky Sports about the possibility of joining the European Champions and stated that a move would be a ‘great honour’.
He said: “I love English football and wouldn’t be afraid to play there. Chelsea are a top club.”
“If Chelsea are interested in the winter and the clubs reach an agreement, then why not?
Many blues fans have been whispering names for weeks on who they would like boss Roberto di Matteo to bring in and Atletico Madrid’s Radamel Falcao has been mentioned daily, but the reality is that he will not move in the January transfer window and the club will need to switch its attention to a younger, more available option like Bony.
