Chelsea set to beat the likes of Arsenal in race to sign Ligue 1 star

St Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has a steadily increasing band of continental admirers with scouts from Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund joining the scouts pavilion which includes regular Lique 1 watchers Arsenal and Newcastle.

The 23 year old striker has been in red hot form this season, trailing only Swedish super striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the Lique 1 goalscoring charts. The Gabon international banged in his 17th goal of the season for St. Etienne at the weekend and is certain to be on his way out of the club come the end of the season when Europe’s elite come knocking with big money offers.

With the player contracted with St Etienne till 2016, the club would welcome a bidding war to drive up the price on the prized asset, though given Chelsea’s abundance of funds, they could put an end to the competition anytime they choose. Two weeks ago it was reported that the Blues were open to spending upto £13 million for Aubameyang, and with the rest of their competitors unlikely to breach the 10 million mark, we could well be in for a no contest.

Mr Wenger,You better sign a good striker instead of wasting your time.

Its fine, as long as we keep hold of Lukuku, i dont understand why Chelsea wont give Lukuku a run in the team next season, he has thrived at West Brom. He should be our number 1 striker for the 2013/2014 season. We dont need Falcou, or Cavani.
