Current Arsenal team is not good enough to compete for Champions League.

There has been a lot said about the Arsenal team lately and their boss Arsene Wenger’s lack of spending. But I wonder if their current squad are good enough to qualify for the Champions League again?

Arsenal seem to have a good midfield but not much else, so they need to improve the back-line and the strikers if they want a chance of challenge for the best club competition around.

Wojciech Szezesny is a good, solid goalkeeper who will eventually be one of the best stoppers around but he needs time.

Thomas Vermaelen is a great defender who is one of the best defenders in the Premier League but he hasn’t got the quality around him to help the Gunners challenge for that top four finish.

There best area seems to be midfield, with the likes of Mikel Arteta, Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. But even they have not been performing at their best in recent weeks and young Wilshere has been out for so long, he simply cannot get back to his best straight away.

As for their strikers? Well there isn’t much to talk about as all of them are miss-firing and under-performing and that is an area that they defiantly need to improve in.

They are the only players that in my opinion would walk into most teams in the League. But the rest of the squad are simply not up to the standard of a club like Arsenal and are just average at best.

However, they can improve on their performances this season but they just don’t have a lot of time to do it.

If Arsenal don’t buy in January, then they will not qualify for the Champions League.

Arsenal must get off the blip, Winning the championship is still possible. Say we do not loose again and have less that 5 draws, then we will have 80 more points on top of the 12 we have currently. But easier said that done.

My suggestion is that we have players who are good in the central and few who are experts in the wings. My suggestion would be we play a generic all central attack formation with little focus on the wings. Her is my line up

    —————–Giroud
    ——Gervinho, Wilshere, Podolski—-
    —————–Carzola————–
    —————–Arteta
    Jeckinson, Matsecker, Vermaleem, Sagna
    —————Manonne

Here, Gervinho,Wilshere and Podolski operate at the hole and all operate from the central behind the striker Giroud, playing on their strengths. Walcott, Rosicky and Arshavin too can replace the three without a blip, again playing in their strengths.Carzola, a specialist in both wings and central plays the free role and can appear from either wing, or from the central behind the three, depending with the game, linking up with Arteta. The OX and Ramsey can play in the Carzola Role or either of the three holes. The back four remain with Sagna coming in the left to give some competition and get match fit for the time being.Once in a while Other strikers like Chamakh can cameo as we prepare to bring in a new striker to help Giroud out. This team up will ensure the creativity is restored, our players play to their strengths and goals can be easily gotten from all the four central attack players in one match.
