A 22-year old Russian whizkid grabbed plenty of early headlines at Euro 2012, and one would have believed that it was just a matter of time before Europe’s big guns came calling for CSKA Moscow playmaker Alan Dzagoev. Sure enough, and reports in popular sports website talkSPORT suggest that teams from North London (Arsenal and Tottenham) to Italy (Inter Milan and Juventus) are lining up for the player’s signature, but it appears that Dzagoev has been told by his current club that there is no need for him to pack his bags just yet as they are keen on hanging on to him for another season at the very least.
Dzagoev has 2 years left on his existing contract, and CSKA are not keen on selling their influential playmaker just yet, even if there was a big money offer on the table.
Tottenham were rumoured to be leading the race to sign the youngster, with Spurs reportedly having tabled a £10million bid earlier this month. However, Dzagoev has been told in no uncertain terms by his club that his immediate future lies in Moscow and not White Hart Lane.
