Tottenham Hotspur’s immediate future continues to be clouded by uncertainty as the club searches for a new face to replace Harry Redknapp. David Moyes has been tipped to finally make the step up to a bigger club and he is instilled as one of the favourite to take over at White Hart Lane. But former Spurs defender Chris Perry spoke to talkSport about his fears, mainly regarding the possible exodus of the star players if the Everton manager was hired.
The 39 year old said: “We’ve heard Modric might be leaving to go to Manchester United, obviously there have been rumours about Gareth Bale recently and Van der Vaart, and is he a big enough name internationally to keep these star players at Tottenham? I don’t know. A Rafa Benitez might be a name that is good for the players to hear. He has obviously got a good track record, he won the Champions League with Liverpool.”
The club are in tough situation as they have to find a balance between the heightened expectations and actual state of affairs. Redknapp faced the boot because of his failure to get Spurs into the Champions League two seasons in a row and Perry probably raises legitimate questions about Moyes’ capability of achieving that target in a short span of time.

did daniel levy give you the impression last season that he would sell players who want to break their contract and leave ?
Oh yes those fears are growing all the time. I spoke to Gareth today and he said that if Moyes is the manager he fears he would have to leave and Luka told me much the same. They said that if the tactical genius Redknapp who cannot beat a big team and loses all the big games had stayed so would they. They told me they like losing to Man U and Man City and Chelsea and Arsenal. If Moyes who has a track record of punching above his weight and giving the top teams a bloody nose joins Tottenham they want to go. Both Gareth and Luka told me they just wouldn’t want to player under a manager who might bring them success; who might organise them; who might be tactically aware…….
If Moyes joins then a mass exodus is certain – we will be lucky to get Ian Walker in goal with Justin Edinburgh as right back and Ronny Rosenthal as the other 9 players.
Stop and think. In the 10 years Moyes has been a manager in the Prem, how many times has ‘Arry finished above him?
Bet you a brown bag of money that Moyes is in front!!
Spurs ‘a bigger club’ (than Everton)- behave.
Spurs ‘big club’??? LOL
based on what jedaga ?
Everton have , I think 9 championships to Spurs’ 2 !
Spurs a bigger club than Everton? On what basis is that then? I do like Spurs as a club and my view is that both clubs have great history and proper fans. However, treat Everton with the respect it deserves as one the great and founder clubs in English football.
