Chelsea will continue to spend big in the January transfer window as well. The squad needs pruning as well, and that will be Rafael Benitez’s one of the most onerous tasks ahead. He has to perform his own cull and in this article we take a look at five players the club must sell in the winter transfer window.
Fernando Torres: FACT – He is not the same player anymore. He will not be the same player anymore. Benitez is trying to get the best out of him and so far has been successful. Torres has scored four goals in the last two matches (UCL & League). Well, he might score more goals but he will never be the same Fernando Torres of Liverpool. Injuries, loss of form has taken its toll on him. Some transfer works, some doesn’t.
Daniel Sturridge: He is no longer needed. The sails are heading to Liverpool already.
Ashley Cole: Well, the club is hell bent that Cole won’t be given more than one year contract. The player can sign a pre-contract with any foreign clubs in January. PSG and Real Madrid are eager for his signature. Why letting a world class player go on free next summer? No logic in that.
Florent Malouda: With no matches under his belt in 2012/13 you seriously expect him to stay? Sad part is, nobody wants to take any risk with him these days.
Marko Marin: He is really a joke of a signing. Touted as one of the wannabe stars at Chelsea, he has made only two appearances in the league. He was an outcast under Di Matteo and seems like Benitez doesn’t know him as well. Why then paying his wages? The player can go back to Germany and resurrect his career again.

Marko marin is a good player only that those fools chelsea never gave him a chance
If you must write, then write about the predicted line-up for the next match, cos this article is quite….
Players chelsea SHOULD sell: Torres should be sold now that he’s showing improvement (4 goals in 2 games)! Does that make sense?
Chelsea have just 2 strikers & you say Sturge is “not needed” hence SHOULD be sold?
Why letting a world-class player (Cole) go for free in the summer, so SHOULD be sold; even without a new replacement?
Marin “joke of a player” with just two matches. Outcast under RDM! You obviously didn’t try to find out about him, cos you would’ve known he’s been injured!
Pls stop wasting people’s time with such articles!
Sell Ferrera.. I dnt see his usefulness. MARIN should not be sold. He’s a possible replacement in times of injury
of course marko marin is agreat player znd chelsea must gi ve him his chance
1 out of 5 for Malouda.
