The Daily Mail reports that cash-rich French club PSG have joined the race for Arsenal’s unsettled Captain Robin Van Persie. The talismanic Dutchman is currently stalling on a contract offer from the Gunners, knowing that joining Manchester City would mean much higher wages besides a better shot at the title. The Qatari owned PSG have the wealth to match any asking price, but would surely not be a possible destination for a player hell-bent on winning trophies at the highest level.·However, PSG’s involvement might actually favour the North London Club, as they can drive up the asking price for their 28 year old star.
18-year-old Alban Bunjaku has been signed by Sevilla from Arsenal, reports the Daily Mail. Bunjaku, who came through Arsenal’s youth ranks, is one of Sevilla’s new signings along with Javi Hervas from Cordoba and Bryan Rabello from Colo Colo. Neither club has made an official announcement about the move yet.
Serie A club Udinese’s technical director Andrea Carnevale has declared that Arsenal and Tottenham target Samir Handanovic would not be leaving the club in the summer. The North London rivals were keen on the impressive goalkeeper, known for his knack of saving penalties, as they aimed to strengthen in that position. However, the technical manager reportedly told an Italian Radio Station that, “Neither of them (Handanovic and his team-mate Luis Muriel) will leave – the goalkeeper is still with us.”
