With veteran manager Harry Redknapp looking to give recently relegated London outfit QPR a makeover, it was always expected that the club would look to sign some of his favourite players.
One of the players that the Hoops have been linked with is Scott Parker. The veteran English midfielder is no longer required by Tottenham and is available for transfer. QPR, however, have been rebuffed in their attempts to sign the player, if reports in the Daily Express are to be believed, with Spurs reportedly valuing the player at £2m.
Redknapp also recently acknowledged his interest in striker Jermain Defoe, but with the World Cup looming, the player is unlikely to agree to a step down to the Championship.
Despite winning their first game in the Championship, it is clear that QPR need to strengthen, and the aforementioned players would bring in just the sort of experience that they require at the moment.
However, given their current position, one does feel that Harry Redknapp would find it very hard to convince his ex charges to rejoin him at Loftus Road, unless they have already reached the twilight of their career and are willing to accept a drop in competition levels.
