Chelsea’s inspirational captain John Terry could be the latest man from the old firm to part ways with the club after talks over a new contract with the Blues were snubbed by the management. The Daily Star reports that club owner Roman Abramovich is not keen on offering the former England captain a new deal at Stamford Bridge. The 32 year old year rubbed his owner the wrong way as he reportedly lead the charge against former Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas.
Roman Abramovich is believed to still be aggrieved at Chelsea’s skipper and is looking to turn down any talks over a new deal. It is believed that Abramovich is also looking to lower the average age of the club which could find John Terry get the axe after his contract expires at the end of next season. It is believed that Terry’s advisors were turned down over talks of a new deal by the management on the instructions of their Russian owner.
It will be interesting to see what this decision, if the rumours hold true, will spur among the fans at the club, who have not been in good terms with the management after the appointment of Rafa Benitez as manager.

John Terry supported AVB. He was constantly getting playing times and he didnt have problems with AVB. The rule in Chelsea today is simply: if you are over 30 years, we wait till your last season on your current contract to see if you are still fit and relevant particularly for the high earners. The best you will get then is a year rolling contract. you wont get your regular 5-year, 3-year contracts you are used to.
The writer of this piece is just trying to sensationalise this issue. Terry is not slated for any punishment but the rule must be obeyed.
He should wait till his final contract year before sending his agents to Chelsea but even at then the best he can get is a year contract.
This policy is working in Man U with Scholes, Giggs, Ferdinand not complaining. Chelsea Press and Chelsea fans please let it work here.
Terry is finished. All that surrounds him now is controversy. We need a new start and he represents so much that has been bad about the club if not football as a whole. Time to move on. Lets get rid in the summer.
