Juventus ready to splash the cash in order to land Arsenal’s Robin van Persie

Italian champions Juventus could finally land Robin van Persie from Arsenal as they launch a whopping £70 million plan for the transfer, claimed the Mirror. The Italians could offer the Gunners £20 million and Van Persie would then receive wages to the tune of £190,000-a-week after tax deductions.

Although Wenger was said to be planning a last ditch attempt to encourage the Dutchman to sign a new contract to stay back at the Emirates. But the latest bid could seal the striker’s fate as it would significantly exceed previous offers received by the Gunners for Van Persie.

Man City now appear to be unlikely to win this race after Mancini looks unable to offload Emmanuel Adebayor to Tottenham in order to free his bloated wage bill. Additionally, transfer chief Brian Marwood has signaled that the Citizens are unlikely to offer in excess of £150,000-a-week to RVP, pushing City down the pecking order for the transfer.

Meanwhile, Sir Alex Ferguson appears unlikely to shell out in excess of £15 million for a 29 year-old with a poor injury record with just one year on his current contract. Moreover, the Dutch international has demanded that he be offered the same £220,000-a-week deal as Wayne Rooney whereas United are prepared to give at most £200,000-a-week to the striker.

Juventus, who had fallen behind United in the race for his signature, have launched this astonishing attempt to foil his move to Old Trafford. This offer could be the one that sees the Van Persie saga conclude with the Dutchman donning the black and whites of Juve next season.

Let the business be done now that Arsenal can prepare adequately for the coming season. RVP’s transfer may turn to be a blessing in disguise. Arsenal needs a captain who is loyal to the club no matter what. That alone motivates the players work to full capacity. I see that in TV5.

This is ridiculous. They could use that money on Cavani instead. He’s better, younger, is proven in Serie A and has been consistently healthy.
