Victor Moses has refused to sign a contract extension with relegation contenders Wigan and now looks set to quit the club in the summer. The 21-year old has only one year left on his current deal and according to reports in the Metro, both Liverpool and Tottenham are believed to be keen on him and could come in with bids at the end of the season.
Moses’ agent Tony Finnigan was even quoted by the aforementioned daily as saying, “Victor Moses has just a year left on his contract with Wigan Athletic and we were about to start talks on the extension when he said he does not want to sign a new deal. Victor Moses has played himself into a position where virtually every club in the Premier League want to sign him.”
Moses is primarily a winger and has scored 4 goals and made 6 assists in 34 appearances this term. Should Tottenham and Liverpool enter a bidding war, the Reds might have an edge financially, especially since they can offer higher wages.
However, Spurs could end up securing a top four finish and the lure of Champions League football could prove to be too much for the player to resist.
