Liverpool chasing Anzhi forward in January

According to the agent of Lacina Traore, the Anzhi Makhachkala striker, English side Liverpool have shown interest in his client for a possible move in January.

The Reds are struggling to keep up pace with their rivals for the elusive Champions League spot in the league and manager Brendan Rodgers wants to add few players to bolster his squad in the January transfer window. One of the key areas of concern for him is the strike department where The Merseyside club are left with Luis Suarez as the only senior recognized striker in the side after new signing Fabio Borini has been side lined for few months with injury while Andy Carroll was sent on loan in the summer to West Ham.

Traore, with a moniker ‘Gentle Giant’ impressed for Anzhi last week when his goal made all the differences against Liverpool in the Europa League clash as the Russian side moved up to the top of the group table.

Dmitry Selyuk, the agent of the player revealed that Udinese are also interested in signing the player, but the Italian side won’t be able to meet up the player’s valuation.

“Aside from Liverpool, Udinese are another on the list of clubs to have made contact about the purchase of Traore,” Selyuk was quoted by Sky Sports.

Well, there’s no harm in showing an interest for any player, who has scored 12 goals in 20 appearances in all competitions so far, but Liverpool probably won’t go for him. Instead, Rodgers will try to lure a high profile name like Klaas-Jan Huntelaar who will not only improve the squad considerably but will boost the morale as well.

We can talk tactics, money, players, formation,JW Hendry, but, ultimately if we don’t bring Rafa back or another coach of his calibre,we will just remain a mid-table club. Since 2000 it has been realised in football that you can no longer keep a manager for future success, cos what happens after 5yrs if it doesnt work out? Do we start another 5yr project. Rafa won the CL in the first season,Pep won the double,Jose,Klopp,Wenger,Ancelotti to name a few. Guys like Fergie(going 5yrs without silverware, yet having the best budget) would never make the grade in the current game,he still be working somewhere in his hometown… So why as LFC are we trying to be a grooming arena for an unexperienced guy like Rogers? He should do his time like Pep did at Barca and understand the game more thoroughly,no disrespct to Rogers, but, WE ARE LIVERPOOL!!!!BESIDES ANY COACH THAT IS FERGIE-FRIENDLY IS JUST NOT LIVERPOOL… IF FERGIE DOESNT MIND YOU, YOU NOT GOOD ENOUGH!!!
