20-year old Brazilian winger Philippe Coutinho cost Liverpool just £8.5 million, and the youngster is already giving evidence that the money the Reds spent on bringing him over from Inter Milan is a fantastic investment.
Coutinho’s skipper Steven Gerrard has already declared his delight with the performances of the youngster with his quote declaring the player possessing “moments of magical brilliance” likely to be quoted around Anfield for years to come.
Coutinho himself was in a chatty mood on Sunday and shared that the time he spent in Spain and Italy prior to his move to England have helped him adapt better to the demands of the English game.
The chirpy Brazilian told the Liverpool Echo, “Things have gone really well for me here so far,” obviously referring to his excellent return of 2 goals and an equal number of assists in the 4 games he has played so far.
Coutinho added that his game needs to develop a lot more to cope with the physical demands of English football, but was confident he had the raw material to improve.
The youngster said, “I hope to be here for many years and become a big player for Liverpool. I will continue to work hard and do my best to improve my performances and help Liverpool.”
