Brendan Rodgers is working hard and working quick to undo the errors made in the transfer market over the summer that left Liverpool stranded with just a single striker for the first half of the season. The Northern Irishman is looking to work within the meagre budget provided to him by the club owners and with Daniel Sturridge’s move from Chelsea all but done, he is now targeting a loan move for PSG’s Kevin Gameiro, in order to bring in some much needed experience up front.
Gameiro has started just three games for Carlo Ancelotti’s team but is a proven striker in front of goal and could very well be available for loan till the end of the season. The 25 year old will provide cover to Luis Suarez, who has held the baton upfront since the start of the season.
Tom Ince and Daniel Sturridge are the other two players that Liverpool look set to sign this winter. The Reds will be splashing around £12 million for Chelsea striker Sturridge, which will eat up a significant chunk of their budget, while Ince should be available for just under half that figure.
