Liverpool ace Luis Suarez could be returning to competitive action in the fixture against Manchester United in the Capital One Cup on the 25th of September, following the conclusion of his 10 match ban for biting Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic,
The Uruguayan has just two matches left on his ban and is reportedly desperately keen to play a starring role against arch rivals United to win back the Liverpool fans after what has been a tumultuous summer. However, The Guardian speculates that Suarez is expected to be shifted to the wing to let Daniel Sturridge continue in his role as the club’s lead striker.
The ex-Chelsea star has had a dream start to his Premier League campaign this season, scoring all three goals for the Reds in their first three matches, thus helping them maintain their perfect record. In total, Sturridge has found the net 5 times in 4 match wins for Liverpool, this season, his other goals coming in the Capital One Cup itself.
Suarez’s relegation to the flanks, however, means the 26 year old would have to work hard to reclaim his spot as the Reds’ primary forward, with Sturridge expected to provide him with vehement competition.
