Chelsea playmaker Juan Mata might have come to terms with his role at Stamford Bridge under manager Jose Mourinho and might even be looking ready to fight for his place in the team, but rumours linking him with a move away from west London refuse to die out. According to reports in transfermarketweb.com, reigning English Champions Manchester United are back in the race for the Spaniard and may make a move for him in January.
The Red Devils have had a disappointing start to their current seasons and manager David Moyes is reportedly desperate to rectify his summer transfer window blunders by landing star players at the club in January. The Scot has even got massive funds to spend and it is expected that he would follow up with a move for some top class players. Consequently, Juan Mata has been linked with a move to the club again.
The reports are further strengthened by the fact that Moyes isn’t exactly happy with the performance of playmaker Shinji Kagawa and may offload him in January, utilising him in a swap for Borussia Dortmund’s Neven Subotic. The Japanese’s departure would create a massive void in the squad and the manager would have to follow up with reinforcements soon, which is where €34 million rated Mata comes in.
