Manchester City are set to do some hardcore business on deadline day after having been rather invisible all summer. The Daily Star reports that the Premier League champions are looking to strengthen their squad by bringing in as many as 4 players.
The Fab Four are likely to include Brazilian veteran right-back Maicon, former England youth star Scott Sinclair, teenage Serbian defender Matija Nastasic and former Arsenal and Ipswich goalkeeper Richard Wright.
All four moves have a bid of desperation about them with Maicon clearly past his prime and a rather expensive addition in a position where City already have two players. Sinclair is a player who could not make the cut at Chelsea, and despite excelling at Swansea City the last two seasons is unlikely to bring anything new to the Chmpions.
Matija Nastasic is definitely one for the future, but at £12 million is ridiculously expensive for a player yet to feature at the highest level, while the signing of a has been keeper might make sense, but a never was is completely preposterous.
