Manchester United have increased their lead over their derby rivals Manchester City by 12 points. Well, according to history of the Premier League, no team has ever lost from that position.
Even if United drop points to Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea and their nearest challengers, that is City win all their games, taking only big matches into consideration, the lead is more than enough to win the Premier League title.
On Sunday at Old Trafford, United played against a strong Everton side. Sir Alex Ferguson prior to the match insisted that he will have to rotate the squad, due to the upcoming Champions League fixture against Real Madrid.
However, as always, he never neglects the league priority and fielded a very strong side too. As a result of which they came out 2-0 victorious though, Everton came close on many occasions.
In the end result matters and now what matters is can City catch United in the title race? Probably, ‘No’ is the answer.
