Arsene Wenger is keen on landing Borussia Dortmund striker Marco Reus. The Frenchman was apparently impressed with the performance of the 23 year old for the German national team in the Euro quarter-finals, where he capped a good show with the team’s fourth goal. Wenger was all praises while doing commentary on the match for French TV Station TF1 and even replied in the affirmative when asked by an analyst if he was “On the case”. However, it would be very difficult to snap up the player who signed for Dortmund for £14 million in January only.
Marouane Chamakh, who is edging closer to an Emirates exit after two dull seasons at the club, may not return to former club Bordeaux, the French club president Jean-Louis Triaud has told·Sport 10. The Moroccan is one of Arsenal’s top earners and the Ligue 1 club are unlikely to pursue the forward as they cannot fulfill the player’s wage expectations. With Wenger looking for a complete redevelopment of his squad, Chamakh is very likely to leave the Gunners this summer, however, his high wage demands could make it difficult for the 28 year-old to find a new club.
