Ashley Cole has moved to quell speculation about his future at Chelsea beyond next season as the 31 year old defender took to Twitter to clear the air. Cole, who has been linked with PSG since rumours emerged suggesting that he was looking for a £200k-a-week contract, rubbished claims that he made such demands while also stating that talks with Chelsea had just begun over a new deal.
Chelsea have stepped up their interest in Bayer Leverkusen’s Andre Schurrle claims the People as the Blues are said to be ready to offer a whopping £25m for the 21 year old. The Germans have already rejected an earlier approach from the European champions but the chance to cash in on their biggest asset could be tempting.
Chelsea’s chase for a new right-back has faced a fresh setback after their number one target, Cesar Azpilicueta has all but declared his intention to stay at Marseille. The Blues had a £5.4m bid rejected last week and money might not be the issue anymore after the 22 year old spoke to the club’s website in detail about the season ahead, effectively ending the exit talk.
