Mon 9th July – Arsenal transfer news, tough fights ahead to land new signings

Arsenal and West Ham face a tough fight to land Real Madrid B star Joselu according to the Mirror after the club reportedly rejected a €5m offer from another suitor, Hoffenheim. Madrid are seemingly holding out for a €10m bid for the 22 year old striker, who is being viewed as a player of Premier League quality after netting 26 goals last season.

Fiorentina’s Stevan Jovetic is another hot prospect this summer, with Chelsea and Arsenal vying for the Montenegrin striker. The Express report that Arsene Wenger is keen to replace Robin van Persie with the 22 year old, who is valued at £25m. Jovetic came to the spotlight with some eye catching performances for the Serie A outfit, scoring 14 goals for them last term.

Goal.com report that Spanish champions Real Madrid have rejected the approaches of an unnamed Premier League club for the services of midfielder Esteban Granero, according to Spanish daily Marca. Arsenal and Liverpool were said to be tracking the player, who has been used primarily as an impact substitute at the Santiago Bernabeu. Although the Spaniard’s contract with Real Madrid runs only till next January, Jose Mourinho is unwilling to let him leave, sparking speculations that he could be offered a new deal with the La Liga winners.
