Andre Villas-Boas will be at loggerheads with the club that sacked him a few months ago as the Daily Mail report that Tottenham and Chelsea are fighting for the signature of Borussia Dortmund star Robert Lewandowski. The Polish striker is being priced at £20m, with Arsenal and Man United also in the hunt for the man who plundered 30 goals last season.
Tottenham have received some positive news in their pursuit of Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao reports the Mirror after his club Internacional signed Diego Forlan on a three-year contract. This could well pave the way for the 22 year old to leave South America for the bright lights of Europe, with Spurs in pole position to snap him up after having two bids already rejected.
Tottenham have confirmed the signing of long-time target Jan Vertonghen from Ajax, with player set to undergo a routine medical to complete the formalities. The central defender had been linked with Spurs for a very long time after being identified by former manager Harry Redknapp. An official statement on the club website read, “We are delighted to announce that we have reached agreement with Ajax for the transfer of Jan Vertonghen, subject to a medical.”
