Mourinho flies in to become Chelsea manager and already has his sights on two strikers
‘The Special One’ has jetted into England over the weekend to wrap up discussions to take over the Chelsea hot seat for a second time in his career. Jose Mourinho is widely expected to be appointed as the new Chelsea boss on Monday, so much so that the Premier League’s official website made a blunder by making the announcement on Chelsea’s behalf on a test page that their technical team were busy preparing on Sunday.
Mourinho’s appointment will be no surprise, but the names being bandied about as possible strikers that he will sign are, with the Telegraph reporting that the 50 year old Portuguese hopes to bring in Manchester City reject Edin Dzeko and Fiorentina youngster Stevan Jovetic, also an Arsenal target, to bolster his squad this summer. What this means for the future of one Fernando Torres should these signings materialize remains to be seen.
Mourinho is also reportedly keen on getting rid of Brazilian center back David Luiz, but the Telegraph adds that the 26 year old defender is a favourite of club owner Roman Abramovich, and his exit could be blocked by the big boss.
