It is being reported that the Stamford Bridge boss Carlo Ancelotti has not finished his rebuilding of his Chelsea team, and has now decided to put in another £50m bid, but this time he intends to raid local rivals Arsenal for their talismanic captain Cesc Fabregas.
The Sun reports that Arsene Wenger was resigned to losing Fabregas in the summer, but would rather not let Barcelona get hold of him after their disgraceful tapping up of Cesc over the last two years.
And they also report that Cesc himself was left annoyed that the Catalan club refused to meet Arsenal’s valuation of the Spanish international, and feels that he was let down by their promises and the way they used him to try and force through a deal on the cheap.
Barcelona is expected to return in the summer with another bid, but if they stick to their valuation of Fabregas it will leave the way clear for Roman Abramovich to come in with a more realistic bid. Although Wenger and the Arsenal fans would have to see Fabregas move to Stamford Bridge, surely they would prefer him to move to Chelsea rather than Barcelona?

This article is ridiculous. Why would Arsenal supporters prefer for our star player to move to Chelsea over Barcelona? Chelsea are rivals in the same league and only Tottenham has less appeal as far as Gooners are concerned. Don’t you know that Ashley Cole’s defection is still a source of pain for many-a-Gooner? At least if Barcelona got him, Gooners wouldn’t have to deal with that again.
The Fab to Barca issue was never about money – it was about Fabregas’ desire to play for his hometown club and that’s all. It doesn’t matter what Chelsea offer – Fab would never ever play for them. He’d only ever play for Arsenal or Barcelona. He’s said it several times.
Anyway 50 Mil is way to little in today’s inflated market (this is mostly Chelsea’s fault). Given his age, status and capability, he’s easily worth more than Real Madrid paid for Kaka.
I wud rather see Barca or Madrid tap & sign Cesc Fab4 than see him at Stamford, GOD FORBID. By the way which football type will Cesc play @ stamford? the long, hit & run? Cesc isnt that player as witnessed by the teams he plays/willing to play for. Lo I dont see that happenig plus Wenger will never sell a worldclass player to rivals.
Are you stupid or something? Of course I’d rather see him in the Blaugrana than in the Blue of Chelsea. The difference between a move to Barca and a move to Chelsea is the motive. Moving to Barca would be due to ambition and boyhood admiration, moving to Chelsea would be backed by monetary gain. So, if he does move, I’d have far more respect for El Capitan if he chooses Barcelona over those effing Chavs!
business-wise its better to get the maximum from the deal……cesc isnt ashley cole and i like to think that if he went to chelsea it was for a mutually beneficial deal. £50 m is a lot of money.

fabregas to barca in the summer for 60mil. Use that money 20mil. for jesus navas, 15mil. for eden hazard, 15mil for sakho and then you still have 10mil available plus whatever the arnenal board have available and you can bring in someone like chamberlain or some unknown arsene prospect. I will be absolutely ecstatic about the off season business if this was to be the case,but hey Im allowed to dream.
I will be happy if i see cesc fabregas in chelsea colour.
