Petr Cech will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge if he is not willing to play second fiddle to Thibaut Courtois, according to a report in the Telegraph.
The 31 year old has not featured since he was forced out of Chelsea’s Champions League semi final clash against Atletico Madrid with a shoulder injury. Cech’s lack of fitness means that should he decide to leave, such a transfer may not occur until the January transfer window.
Belgian shot stopper Courtois has excelled over the last two seasons, a time he has spent on loan at Atletico Madrid, but Mourinho finally looks ready to trust him in his starting line up.
If Cech is not happy to sit on the bench while the 22 year old takes the place that the Czech Republic international has held for over a decade, then he will be either sold or loaned out.
Courtois is currently still on loan at Atletico Madrid, who are preparing for their upcoming match against Real Madrid in the Champions League final.
