A few days after having been linked with a move for Chelsea captain John Terry, former Chelsea manager and current Paris Saint Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti has rubbished claims that he has plans to sign the England center-back in a press conference on Tuesday.
While the press conference focussed on a lot of different players including the soon to arrive Ezequiel Lavezzi and French bad boy Jeremy Menez, Ancelotti was quick to clear the air regarding his interest in Terry. Carlo declared, “We are looking for a central defender. The club is in contact with some players, but not John Terry.”
The news will come as a welcome relief to Chelsea fans, who may have been worried about their skipper going down the same route as Didier Drogba, and leaving the club on a high. However, most fervent Chelsea fans will known that John Terry bleeds Blue, and if he were ever to leave Chelsea, he would probably have to be dragged away from the club he has helped build into a champion side.
It will be interesting to see this season if Terry were to remain first choice in central defence, and how many games he gets under his belt.
