Just hours after Paris St. Germain sent fans in North London into a tizzy by reportedly offering to activate Tottenham Manager Andre Villas-Boas’ 10 million pound release clause, a senior sports writer for L’Equipe Erik Bielderman, has dismissed the rumours as fake and remarked that the French fans couldn’t be less interested in the young Portuguese sensation and are more keen on his more illustrious neighbour, Arsenal’s legendary manager Arsene Wenger.

Bielderman, speaking to the award-winning journalist Alan Brazil on TalkSPORT’s Sports Breakfast show, declared: “The French public dream about Wenger.”

Sadly for Paris St. Germain, they can dream all they want, with it being next to impossible to see Arsene Wenger renege of his contract with the Gunners and quit the team this summer. Wenger’s contract with Arsenal does end though in 2014, and PSG can choose to appoint an Interim Manager should they be keen to wait for the French tactician, but there is every chance Wenger will sign a contract extension with Arsenal, with Chief Executive Ivan Gazidis declaring that the team are desperate to hold on to their legendary boss.
