Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho wants to bring Chelsea left back Ashley Cole to Santiago Bernabéu in the January transfer window.
Cole, 31, has less than one year left in his contract, and would be eligible to sign a pre-contract elsewhere. Though, manager Roberto Di Matteo wants to keep him at the Bridge for longer period of time, the club want to stick with their policy of not giving long term contracts to the players, who are over 30 years of age.
Chelsea are not interested in making an exception to his case and have handed young Ryan Bertrand new five-year-contract at the club instead.
PSG boss Carlo Ancelotti is interested in his signature but according to reports from The Mirror, Real Madrid boss and former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is equally keen to sign him.
The former Arsenal player will be a free agent in the summer, but Mourinho wants him now, to provide sufficient depth at the left back area.
Joining a club like Real Madrid is a once in a life time opportunity and even Cole knows that too. If Madrid are serious about him, he should also consider the matter seriously. Cole has enough football left in him and his adventurous style of play would suit the Los Blancos perfectly.
