The Mirror reports that Robin van Persie will feature in Arsenal’s friendly against Cologne this weekend as his proposed move to Man United has reached an impasse. Arsene Wenger’s reluctance to sell the star to his old rival Sir Alex combined with United’s refusal to pay over the odds has left the 28 year old in limbo. And, the Gunners feel they could even convince him to stay following recent splurge on attacking talents.
Barcelona are attempting to entice Arsenal into parting with Alex Song by offering young Cristian Tello in exchange, reports Sport.es. Barca are strongly behind Song, making him their top priority before the end of the transfer window. But with Arsenal unlikely to even entertain an offer below 19m euros, the Catalans are ready to give up 20 year old attacker Tello, who has been tracked by Liverpool this summer.
Arsenal have given up on South Korean striker Park Chu-Young the Metro reports, with the Gunners forcing the 27 year old to search for a new club by the end of the transfer window. Park hasn’t made an impact since arriving from Monaco for £3m last year and Blackburn along with Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal remain interested parties.
