The Mirror reports that Robin van Persie will feature in Arsenal’s friendly against Cologne this weekend as his proposed move to Man United has reached an impasse. Arsene Wenger’s reluctance to sell the star to his old rival Sir Alex combined with United’s refusal to pay over the odds has left the 28 year old in limbo. We need the both players (Van Persie as well as Song). To remain viable in the quest for a first trophy in as many years, we need to be at our best. The gunners need to think beyond this coming season- we can sell all the players who want to move then- but only after bagging that much needed trophy.
All clubs should be issued with warnings, alerting them not to consider Arsenal their academy. If they wish to have good players, it only takes them little to build up academies. Song and the other stars should not be tempted with.
