Spain looking at the full implications of the Fabregas injury
The news that Arsenal skipper Cesc Fabregas is out for the season is a blow to Arsene Wenger’s title aspirations but at least they can now move forward knowing that Fabregas will not play any part in their end of season campaign, the same cannot be said for the Spanish World Cup ambitions.
Fabregas’s injury is all over the Spanish press and not because of how it will impact Arsenal but how it will impact Spain’s World Cup preparations.
The news is that Fabregas will be missing for six weeks and with the World Cup some ten weeks away one would think it is a slam dunk case that the young Spanish midfielder will be healed in time, however it is not that actual injury but his fitness that concerns them most.
Marca the Spanish daily have been stuck a poll up on their website asking if the Arsenal captain will be fit enough to be included in Spain’s World Cup squad.
To be honest I personally never even thought of the implications for the Spanish national squad but the Spanish certainly are considering the implications.
Spain at least have sufficient cover in midfield, in fact they have an abundance of World class talent in the midfield area, however that has not stopped them basically panicking.
It is a terrible blow for Fabregas himself, not only has his domestic season but his world cup place is now in jeopardy.
It would be shame if he was to miss out on the World Cup and all football fans will be hoping he recovers in time, the World Cup finals need the best players there and Fabregas is one of the best.
