Long term Tottenham Hotspur target Leandro Damiao has revealed that he wishes to leave the Brazilian isle at some point in his career and if he does, he would like to fulfill his dream by playing for Spanish giants Real Madrid.
Spurs have been chasing the Internacional striker for some time now but the London based club have failed to meet up the asking price of the Brazilian club every time they have lodged a potential bid.
It was expected that manager Andre Villas-Boas would try to lure the 23-year-old again for a possible move to the White Hart Lane in January but it seems like the player has set his heart elsewhere.
The striker is happy with where he is at the moment but one can’t raise eyebrows if someone holds a desire to play for probably the biggest and the most glamorous club in this planet.
“Now is not the moment to be thinking of playing in Europe. I just want to continue improving and scoring goals,” he was quoted by talkSPORT.
“However, every footballer dreams of playing at a club such as Real Madrid but I’m only 23 and there is plenty of time to take that step forward.
“I have a contract and I love it here and don’t feel the need to move away right now. Even so, it’s obvious that the day will come when I will leave Brazil to go and play in Europe.”
Certainly it is a dream of every footballer to be a part of Real Madrid squad and achieve stardom and glory. These comments would deliver a blow to Spurs. But, when Los Blancos captures the imagination of a young guy, one can hardly complain about it.
