The 27 year-old had already rejected the transfer of his contract to the new owners, and the Saints’ website confirmed the player’s move to Southampton on a three-year deal. A statement on the website read, “The Northern Ireland captain Steven Davis has signed a three-year contract with Saints.” The ecstatic player told the website, “I’m delighted to get everything done and dusted, and I’m looking forward to getting started.”
