Swansea City will take a sensible look at any Liverpool offer for their players including Joe Allen

Swansea boss Michael Laudrup has taken a refreshing view on wantaway players at clubs as the great Dane spoke to TalkSport with regards to Liverpool’s interest in Joe Allen. The Welsh midfielder, who is currently at the Olympics with Team GB,is being courted by his former manager Brendan Rodgers who is keen to add his midfield mastery to the Liverpool line-up. Laudrup has seemingly planned for the 22 year old’s departure as he recently signed Spanish midfielder Michu from Rayo Vallecano.

And, he stressed on the need to be proactive rather than reactive although he did concede that he was yet to sit down with Allen for a round of talks. “I am in contact with the chairman every day. We agree that if there will be an approach then we will have to talk to the player.”

£15m is what Swansea want for Allen as they look to make the best of the situation, a fact confirmed by the manager as he added: “You can force players to stay but how does that help? It doesn’t work like that. It’s better to find a solution that suits both parties.” The former Barcelona legend also criticized the workings of the transfer window and the gossip columns that make the off-season months hellish for the management.
