Bolton Manager Owen Coyle has been quick to play down rumours linking Chelsea’s talented Spaniard Oriol Romeu with a move to the Championship on a season long loan.
In an interview with Bolton News, Coyle said, “I’m sure the stuff with Romeu came up because of the relationship we have with Chelsea but sometimes people put two and two together and make five. There is no doubt that if there are players available on loan from Chelsea that Bolton Wanderers would be in the mix but there’s got to be an understanding of the level, depending on the player.”
Bolton have been a great nurturing ground for top talent with Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere and Chelsea’s very own Daniel Sturridge beneficiaries of going out on loan to the club in the past, but of course both of those moves occurred when Bolton were still very much in the Premier League.
Now hoping to bounce back quickly to the big time, it comes as no surprise that Bolton continue to be linked with top talent. However, it appears that Coyle’s first priority is keeping his core group of players at the club together to ensure that the ride back to Premier League is a smooth one, and any moves for players on loan will need to wait till the Wanderers have gaps that need filling.
