Too much trust on Rodgers could prove too costly

Brendan Rodgers, the Liverpool manager insisted after the defeat at the hands of Zenit Saint Petersburg that his side needs more investment and unless new players are bought in it is difficult for him to continue with the task.

Apart from Daniel Sturridge, who looks a cracking piece of business, though has only played few matches so far and it is not advisable to judge him straight away, all other signings made by him haven’t done anything spectacular.

Joe Allen, his other big signing divides opinion among the fans and pundits as well. Liverpool have done outstandingly well with their possession based football but dominance without getting results is almost equivalent of playing a negative brand of football.

Results haven’t improved under Rodgers. May be style wise, system wise it is different, that is understandable, as every manager comes with newer ideas, but where are results?

The question is, Liverpool owners gave lots of money to Kenny Dalglish last season but it wasn’t used properly. Can Liverpool owners trust Rodgers completely and give him lots of money to buy players in the summer knowing that results didn’t improve last time with investments?

The yanks would have too be crazy too let Rodgers waist more money ( Borini Allen ) have been terrible signings FACT ? Borini might well have been injured, but had he even looked like a footballer NO ? And Allen is just garbage ? Passes back or sideways only, got zero strength at all either ? And why is Rodgers raiding Swansea again ( Learn your lesson from Allen ) these players aren’t good enough for LFC ?

It all boils down to Fsg shallow knowledge of football with the money they spent we could have fighting for a top4 place with ease..we have a very good core of players add 3 or 4 good players we would be a different team..just imagine we signed 3 players who can sign have an immediate impact like dani..Rodgers has potential and needs qualified personnel to guide him,if we had a good director of football and a qualified Managing director we won’t be splashing cash on borini and allen

I think they can trust Rodgers. You say results haven’t improved but I beg to differ. LFC score many more goals than last season and conceed less. Anfield games were a disaster last season. The second half of last season was dismal and I think you will find that LFC get much better rather than regressing in the last third of this season. People talk a lot about not beating the teams above in the league but the last couple years LFC couldn’t beat the teams BELOW them. Beating the lower teams gives a solid foundation for progress.
