Tottenham look set to miss out on the signature of Malaga striker Salomon Rondon with the news that Russian outfit Rubin Kazan have table an offer higher than the £10 Million that Tottenham are reported to have submitted.
The Italian media citing Radio Marca have acknowledged that Spurs have indeed made an offer but that the offer is below what the Russians are offering and it does now appear that unless Tottenham come back in with a higher offer that the Venezuelan will head to Eastern Europe as opposed to the Premiership.
Tottenham are in need of a new striker now that Emmanuel Adebayor looks unlikely to make a permenent move to White Hart Lane and even if the Man City outcast did make a move to London the chances are that Tottenham would still need another striker anyway.
High quality strikers are thin on the ground, especially at a reasonable cost and if Andre Villas-Boas does not want a weak front-line he will have to either up his offer for Rondon or identify another quality striker and soon.

Let me get this straight.. this morning he’s quoted saying people may leave the club but he wants to stay, and the story (with nothing more than those quotes) has changed within 24 hours to Tottenham tabled a £10m bid for the guy but now probably wont land him?
