Manchester City have now joined the race along with several English clubs for the signature of highly talented Sampdoria midfielder Pedro Obiang.
The 20-year-old Spanish star with a moniker Perico is touted as one of the brightest prospect in Europe and has been compared to Yaya Toure and Patrick Vieira. Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, as well host of Italian clubs are looking to buy him in the January transfer window.
Chelsea boss Rafael Benitez is a huge admirer of the youngster’s talent and wants to bring him at the Bridge in the January transfer window but it was reported few days back that the player won’t be leaving the club as of now.
City boss Roberto Mancini has been monitoring his steady progress and have watched him personally in action.
According to reports from the Mirror, Mario Balotelli’s future at City is under scanner and manager Roberto Mancini would be shipping him out on loan to Italian club AC Milan.
Mancini has run out of patience with him while Milan are equally eager to provide him the escape route in January.
However, the player’s agent, Mino Raiola said “He will be here at City at the end of January. You can ask me the question another four hundred times and it will always be the same answer.”
And it seems like that is the answer you would hear from Mancini as well. Despite the Italian’s strident criticism of Balotelli’s dire performance and attitude, he is not thinking of selling him at the moment. Mancini said as quoted in the Daily Mail: “I don’t believe he will leave at this point.”
Also, Roberto Mancini wants to sign highly rated Brazilian star Paulinho in the January transfer window. A fee in the region of £12m would be enough to strike a successful deal with his parent club, Corinthians.
