Arsene Wenger could enjoy more success with his bid to sign a striker from the La Liga according to Goal.com as they report that the Arsenal manager has made an official move for Atletico Madrid’s Adrian Lopez. Wenger has made a £10m offer for the 24 year old Spaniard after seemingly giving up David Villa and ruling out Demba Ba. Arsenal are in need of another centre-forward to share the burden of goals with Theo Walcott at the moment and Lopez could be a valuable addition to the squad mainly due to his versatility.
The Guardian have Wilfried Zaha pinned down as the most prominent name of the transfer window, reporting that Arsenal, Man Utd, Chelsea and Tottenham are behind the Crystal Palace prodigy. All of those suitors don’t value the 20 year old above £10m but Palace unsurprisingly want to make the best of the situation considering their presence in the Championship. Expect the ball to roll quickly on this one once an official bid flows in.

Theo and Lopez would b dangerous up front. We deffo need a top keeper to command the back 4. And isn’t scared to shout at them. Plus I think arteta should b captin. I really hope wenger buys big this year, he shouldn’t b scared to spend big.
having Lopez and Zaha as gunners is a dream come true and a great addition coz they are great players who command great respect and will add something special to the gunners at such a crucial tym, i have great hopes that this will come to pass in the January transfer window and get to business Wenger’s way!
I’m afraid the majority of these rumours we see these days are humbug. Why the heck would Wenger sign a striker, if Walcott is to sign a new contract? Furthermore, we have Giroud looking better day by day. And whats going on with the Baines rumour? Gibbs has just right signed a new contract, and signing a left back would be very disturbing to his development I would say. If we were to sign a left back, I would go for Southampton’s Luke Shaw – he’s young, and seemingly fits the bill. That way, he and Gibbs could foght for the ledt back spot, and Wenger COULD experiment with Gibbs as a left winger, and play Poldi centrally, now that you all talk about new strikers. But no, What we really need is a tough-tackling midfielder, someone like Wanyama of Celtic, or M’Vila. That would allow Arteta to roam more freely, and we would be able to capitalize on his great passing skills, and utilize his offensive attributes, because his skills are being wasted at the moment! Another option could be, to give Coquelin a real go at it, to see what he can do.
Well, What I’m hoping to see is, a holding midfielder, preferably Wanyama, or more unrealistic, Xabi Alonso. Furthermore, I’d love to see Zaha in an Arsenal shirt. Also, I’m praying there is a call back clause in Myiaichi’s contract, because he’s bein destroyed at Wigan!
COYG!
