Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is always missing that one extra player that will bring them a trophy at the end of the season.
And with all the sales of some of their biggest stars in recent seasons, Cesc Fabregas, Alex Song, Gael Clichy, Samir Nasri, Robin Van Persie have all left the Emirates in search of gory and trophies but apart from Van Persie, they have all found it at other clubs.
But this season was going to be different, they were going to bring back the good old days when they were winning things, and with the new arrivals of Santi Cazorla, Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud they believed they had a chance of success, except that Giroud is struggling to find his feet in the English game, Podolski is not seen as an out and out striker and Cazorla is a centre attacking midfielder.
So where do the goals from if they don’t score them? Gervinho? Theo Walcott? Marouane Chamakh?
All good players, but no-out and out goal-scoring machine like Van Persie was.
They need a big name forward to come in and start scoring goals, Wenger needs to forget about saving money and consider actually spending it.
What’s the point in being one of the richest clubs in the world if you’re just going to keep it safe for a rainy day? Well Arsene it’s pouring down at the Emirates right now and you need to add in the January transfer window because if you don’t, well it’s another season which promised so much but produced so little.
